Yes, he's back, the pioneer of the seminal Detroit groove, with a startling new three-part 12" set. This is Mills in experimental mode, the trax ranging from medium to fast-paced grooves, with multi-layered, alien-like, ambient tones and textures aplenty, all laced over and in between Mills' unmistakable pulsating drum patterns. 'See, Part 1' reminds me of the much earlier 'Growth EP' with its ambient atmospherics, while 'See, Part 2' takes on a much more relentless rhythm, entwined with dark, organ-like stabs. 'Light, Part 1' is indeed, far from being light and is probably one of the darkest traxx on any of the EPs, with its brooding, subliminal tones and gloopy drum pads. This is every Mills-head's long awaited dream, three 12"s worth of minimal masterpieces all in one package. Ace!
